the largest in Southeast Asia; Sri Mariamman Hindu Temple,
Penang Hill accessible by funicular; The Botanical gardens
and Fort Cornwalis where Francis Light, the founder
of Penang, first stepped ashore.
Penang’s excellent food especially the hawker
fare is famous.
Penang reflects a potpourri of Malay, Chinese, Indian
and Nyonya cultures. This is evident in much of the
island’s historical and cultural landmarks.
